// PTFE

PTFE is High molecular weight polymer composed by Carbon and Fluorine based on the polymeric chain -CF2=CF2-. This material is a soft, low friction fluoropolymer with outstanding chemical resistance and weathering resistance.

Mechanical properties can be improved by adding fillers such as glass fibers, bronze, carbon, and graphite. PTFE Politef is one of the most versatile plastic materials known and can be used for applications where other materials can't be used. The compressive strength at a certain predetermined compression value is one of the most significant mechanical characteristics of PTFE Politef, in a wide range of service temperatures.

Its mechanical properties are low compared to other engineering plastics, but its properties remain at a useful level over a great temperature range (-400° to 500° F).

Polymersan offers Bronze, Carbon, Glass and Virgin grades.
